This tour begins with a private tour to the Prado Museum, the most important National Art Gallery in the world. It houses masterpieces between the 15th and 18th centuries from such masters as Van der Weyden, El Bosco, Tiziano, Greco, Rubens, Ribera, Velázquez, Murillo, Goya, Rosales, and Sorolla, among others. This Tour combines an instructive journey through the astounding Spanish history from the Catholic Kings to the Romantic period with the fantastic evolution of the art of painting between the “Quattrocento” and the 19th century.
After the Prado Museum we will leisurely stroll through “Old Madrid”. This combines a walk through pleasant narrow streets usually ignored by conventional tourist guides with the most touristic places of the city, so that we can learn the various architectural styles of its ancient buildings and palaces, local customs, as well as the fascinating history of the restoration of the Old Town with amazing details that usually go unnoticed to individual travelers and will greatly enrich your enjoyment and knowledge of Madrid.
